Philippine employers name Angular among the skills on JobStreet's front-end developer salary page, and Angular and React.js on its full-stack page, but Vue appears on neither list. A front-end title on a Manila CV tells you little about Vue, so screen for the version, the state library and the rendering setup.

The Philippine, Indonesian and Vietnamese cards quote US dollars with a fixed top, so the conversion leaves them unchanged. The China card is set in yuan, ¥40,000 to ¥103,000+, and its floor is $1,460 above the Philippine ceiling.
On JobStreet's front-end developer page, built from pay that employers disclose in Philippine job ads, the middle half runs ₱73,000 to ₱83,000 a month ($1,160 to $1,320). The 90th percentile, ₱93,000 or $1,480, is local-market pay and sits $20 under the Vue card's floor. A senior Vue developer already working for a US client prices from the first table.

Time Zone Overlap: Manila Against ET, CT and PT
Front-end work splits into two kinds of hours. Component builds, tests and refactors run fine while your US team sleeps, while design review and release checks need a designer or product manager awake on both sides. Manila keeps UTC+8 all year with no daylight saving time, and US daylight time runs from 8 March to 1 November 2026, per NIST.
The arithmetic: 9:00 am in Chicago under CDT (UTC-5) is 14:00 UTC, which is 10:00 pm in Manila. Under CST (UTC-6) it is 15:00 UTC, or 11:00 pm. New York's 9:00 am falls an hour earlier on the Manila clock, and San Francisco's two hours later.

Each shift is nine clock hours with a meal break, counted against a 9 am to 5 pm US day.
The 3 pm to 12 am row suits a New York team with one design review a day: three shared hours in summer, two in winter, and the rest of the shift on components. A San Francisco team gets no shared hours from it and needs the last row for four live hours in summer.
The Labor Code sets a night shift differential of at least 10% of the regular wage for each hour between 10 pm and 6 am (Article 86), which prices six of the nine hours in that last row for an employee. We agree the shift before the offer, which is how our placements get 4-6 hours of daily overlap with US hours.
Vue.js Developer Skills to Screen For
Nuxt's July 2026 security release shipped Nuxt 4.5.1 and 3.21.10 together, with a warning that applies to any team that caches pages. After upgrading, the post says, purge any CDN or edge cache that may hold a leaked _payload.json, because upgrading alone won't evict it. Test for that kind of operational knowledge as well as framework fluency.
Vue 2 code still in production
Vue 2 reached end of life on 31 December 2023 and gets no further features, updates or fixes, per the end-of-life notice. GitHub's advisory for CVE-2024-9506, a low-severity ReDoS in the template parser, lists all 2.x releases as affected and 3.0.0-alpha.0 as the patched version.
Vue's migration build runs Vue 3 in Vue 2 mode by default. Its known limitations name component libraries such as Vuetify, Quasar and ElementUI that rely on Vue 2 internals. Ask the candidate which library blocked their last migration and how they got past it.
Pinia and the Composition API
Vue's state management guide says Vuex "is now in maintenance mode" and recommends Pinia for new applications. Vuex's last npm release, 4.1.0, dates from October 2022, and Pinia reached 4.0.0 in July 2026. Give the candidate a Vuex module and an Options API mixin, and ask for a typed Pinia store and a composable in their place.
Nuxt caching and server islands
The Nuxt 4.5 release notes put Nuxt 3's end of life at 31 July 2026. The July advisories rated cross-user payload disclosure High: with cache, swr or isr route rules on authenticated pages, the cached payload could reach a different user or an anonymous visitor.
A second advisory needed vue.runtimeCompiler switched on, where crafted island props could run code in the Nitro server process. That matches Rule No.1 of Vue's security guide: do not use non-trusted content as a component template. Ask which routes the candidate would cache, and how they render CMS HTML without v-html on raw input.
Vue with Laravel and Inertia

Vite 8 and Vapor Mode
Vite 8, released on 12 March 2026, replaced esbuild and Rollup with Rolldown, a single Rust-based bundler. Vue 3.6 brings Vapor Mode, which the 3.6.0-alpha.1 notes describe as 100% opt-in and limited to <script setup> components. The 3.6 line reached release candidate 8 on 11 September 2026, with 3.5.42 still the stable release. Ask what broke in the candidate's last bundler upgrade, and which component they would try in Vapor Mode first.
Contractor or Employer of Record in the Philippines
Software is not one of the nine categories of commissioned work that can be "work made for hire" under 17 U.S.C. § 101, and a transfer must be in writing and signed under § 204(a). Section 178.4 of the Philippine Intellectual Property Code keeps copyright in a commissioned work with its creator unless a written stipulation says otherwise. Name components, composables, Pinia stores and Nuxt modules in the assignment.
IRS Publication 515 says the place where services are performed determines the source of the income, so a developer working from Makati or Davao earns foreign-source income. A foreign individual gives the payer Form W-8BEN to certify foreign status.
Philippine courts apply the four-fold test: selection and engagement, payment of wages, the power of dismissal and the power to control the work. In Atok Big Wedge v. Gison the Supreme Court called control the most important of the four. English Level and Working Norms in the Philippines
Quezon City scores 594 and Makati City 589 on the EF English Proficiency Index 2025, both above the national score of 569. That national score ranks the Philippines 28th of 123 countries and regions against a global average of 488, and the IT job-function score is 581, per EF's Philippines page. Writing, at 603, runs ahead of speaking at 539.
Much of a Vue developer's English goes to designers and product managers: comments on a design file, a pull request with screenshots, a note on why a layout breaks at one width. Ask finalists to record a two-minute walkthrough of their assessment and to write its pull request description, since EF scores the two skills 64 points apart.
Plan December releases early. Under Proclamation 1006, Tuesday 8 December is a special non-working day, and between Christmas Eve on 24 December and the last day of the year on 31 December only Monday 28 and Tuesday 29 December are ordinary weekdays.
Freeze front-end releases for that week or name who covers them. Thanksgiving on 26 November 2026 is a working day in the Philippines, so a developer there can fix a checkout layout while your US team is off.
