Node prices in the application band and usually lands mid-band, because supply is genuinely deep. Almost every front-end engineer can write server-side JavaScript, which means the floor for simple Node work is competitive in a way it is not for Go or Rust. That same depth is why the rate tells you very little here. What moves a Node quote is whether the work is an API over a database or a system where concurrency, streaming and memory behaviour actually matter.

Why is Node cheaper than Go for the same service?
Supply. The pool of people who can write a working Node service is far larger than the Go pool, and that competition sets the floor. The bands only diverge at the top, where the work is concurrency-heavy enough that the runtime matters. For an ordinary API over a database the two will quote close together, and Node will usually start lower.
Can one Node developer cover the front end too?
Often, and that is the real argument for the stack. Shared language and types across the boundary removes a class of coordination cost that shows up in every handoff. It works best on small teams and product work. It works least well when the front end needs deep browser and accessibility expertise, which is a different specialism wearing the same language.
