- The title arrives through the GCC, not the local market: Indian employers advertise for solution engineers, implementation consultants and technical account managers. Search those terms as well or you will see a fraction of the available candidates.
- Services-company experience is not the same experience: Implementing a vendor product for a client is a different job from deploying your own product into a customer. Both appear on Indian CVs as “client delivery”. Ask which one it was.
- Notice periods are the binding constraint: Thirty to ninety days is normal and ninety is standard at large enterprises. Counter-offers of 25 to 40 percent are routine, so move quickly and close cleanly.
- English is rarely the blocker, seniority is: Customer-facing English is widely available at this band. What is scarce is somebody who has carried an account rather than a ticket queue, and that is a seniority question rather than a language one.
