Location: Remote / Hybrid / [City, State]
Job Type: Full-time
Department: AI Operations / Data Quality / Model Training
About the Role
We are looking for an AI Training Specialist to support the development of high-quality AI models by curating, annotating, and refining training data, as well as crafting prompt-based examples and evaluations. You’ll work closely with AI researchers, engineers, and domain experts to improve model performance, alignment, and accuracy through data-driven processes.
This role is ideal for detail-oriented individuals with a strong understanding of language, logic, and quality standards who want to contribute to the training of next-generation AI systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, review, and refine training datasets for LLMs and other AI models
- Design prompt-response pairs, conversation flows, and edge-case examples to support supervised fine-tuning (SFT) and reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF)
- Evaluate model outputs and provide detailed feedback on factuality, tone, safety, and coherence
- Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to iterate on labeling strategies and guidelines
- Maintain consistent data annotation standards across multilingual or domain-specific corpora
- Track and report annotation quality, edge cases, and failure patterns to inform model improvements
- Contribute to red-teaming and robustness testing of models through adversarial prompting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Computer Science, Education, Psychology, Philosophy, or a related field
- Excellent written communication and analytical reasoning skills
- Experience with data labeling, content moderation, or quality assurance processes
- Familiarity with generative AI systems, prompt engineering, or LLM outputs
- High attention to detail and ability to follow evolving annotation guidelines
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working with AI model training pipelines or ML operations
- Exposure to annotation tools (e.g., Labelbox, Prodigy, Scale, Snorkel)
- Understanding of LLM concepts such as temperature, tokenization, and system prompts
- Background in technical writing, tutoring, editorial work, or QA
- Interest in AI ethics, bias mitigation, and responsible training practices
What We Offer
- Work directly with cutting-edge AI research and product teams
- Opportunities to shape the behavior of frontier models through training data
- Competitive compensation, benefits, and career advancement in AI and data operations
- Flexible work hours and a collaborative, mission-driven environment
